Stadium History
The United Center opened in 1994, replacing the old Chicago Stadium. Built privately at a cost of $175 million, it was the largest arena in the NBA when it opened. The arena witnessed the second 'three-peat' championship run of the Chicago basketball dynasty in the 1990s and has become one of the most iconic venues in sports.
