Stadium History
Lambeau Field was built in 1957 for $960,000 and originally called City Stadium. It was renamed in 1965 to honor Packers founder Curly Lambeau. The stadium has hosted countless legendary games including the famous Ice Bowl in 1967. A $295 million renovation in 2003 added the Lambeau Field Atrium, which includes the Packers Hall of Fame, pro shop, and restaurants. The stadium's mystique comes from its small-market location, outdoor elements, and rich championship history.
